How is a party in Spain

Spain is famous because of its parties. A lot of people come here looking for fun. Today I want to expalin how we party though, of course, each place and people may have different habits.

First of all I have to say there is a big difference between teenagers and adults. But allow me to include those under 25 years-old among teenagers for this purpose.

Teenagers and young people in the university usually party focused on alcohol. It is very common to play games in which those who loose have to drink. From the typical dare or drink to games with its own board and dice, it is very common that groups of young people meet in a house or a bar to drink with a game as an excuse.

The most popular drinking is called calimocho which means red wine and coke. However this is not mandatory and each person can drink many different things.

Nowadays, drinking is more dificult for young people, so they usually meet near a river or in a park in the city to avoid the bars and discos. They just chat and drink, and once they are too drunk to chat, they just drink.

Once people get older, the drinking stays but the places are diffent. Young people like to go to discos where you can dance or bars where you can't dance but there is loud music to prevent you to talk with the others.

People with enough money to afford it or in other words, older people usually go to a bar to eat some tapas with a cup of wine. This is very traditional and is a way to have an informal dinner with friends. You don't need to go to a restaurant and pay its prices (tapas are cheaper) and you have a similar leisure.

After the tapas, people usualy go to that bars with the loud music and some of them go to discos. So basically, the main difference between the young and the old ones, is that the first ones eat something before drinking.

I won't talk about drugs and sex, but of course they may have an important role in some Spanish parties.

Of course there are many other things in our parties, but being honest this is the most common and what you can expect if you come here.
